Conversions

Arguably the most important word in Internet marketing.

drive for show, but putt for dough."

conversions are for dough."

How much influence do 'influencers' really have?

Question

"I'm posting and sharing on Facebook every day. I have hundreds (maybe thousands) of likes. My friends are always sharing my posts...
Why am I not selling more?"

Once upon a time, the Internet was obsessed with generating Likes, Shares, Views and Clicks. The belief was that if you generated enough eyeballs or traffic, sales would automatically follow. I'm guessing you're reading this, in part, because you've realised that this isn't actually working for your site or business? Anyone can throw a budget at Facebook and Google and say "send people to my website." And most do just that. However, when asked how it's going you hear things like "it doesn't work" or "it was a wasted budget." Hmmm, really? What specifically did you ask Facebook and Google to do for you? Send people to your site? Well, news flash, that's what they did. Job done. Pay them!

What might happen if you spent money with Facebook and Google and instead said to them... "send me more people who do XYZ * on my website." And what if Facebook and Google studied all users, looked at the keywords they were using, understood which other sites (perhaps like yours) they were browsing, identified which are most likely to do XYZ on your site and optimised their algorithm to do just that?

Well, here's the thing - that's exactly what they do IF you set up your website and marketing correctly. To make this work you must implement a Remarketing Tag and a Facebook Pixel and set up your campaigns with ad variations you can measure the effectiveness of. Perhaps most importantly, before you even start on implementing this, you must be 100% clear as to what specific action(s)** you want visitors to take on your website. While that may seem obvious to you, I invite you to load your own website right now and have a critical look and ask - is it OBVIOUS what ACTION** you want visitors to take?

You're lucky if a curious browser spends 5 seconds on your home page. Don't believe me? Load up your Analytics data and check for yourself! (Uh oh! You don't have Analytics running on your site?) If you can't measure it, you can't fix it.

Stay calm! It's usually at this point that I see eyes glaze over and people decide this is all too big, complicated and expensive, and quietly resolve to themselves to simply post and share even more than before. Spoiler alert - it still won't work.

I will help you clarify and define your objectives, identify useful conversions and implement all the technical stuff in the background to make this work for you. I will assist you to set up your own Google AdWords campaign, a re-marketing campaign as well as a Facebook campaign (no, using 'boost' is not enough).

If you'd like to know more, drop me a mail and let's get your sales growing!

* XYZ - when someone actual does XYZ in response to one of your adverts - we call this a conversion.

** ACTION - a specific thing you want the visitor to DO that helps you turn their visit into a sale. This can be clicking on 'call me', or 'subscribe' or 'order now'. Whatever works for you and your business.

Do I really need Google AdWords?

Yes, yes, yes!! You absolutely do need a Google Ads campaign (assuming you want to be found that is?) I can regale you with lists and reasons and motivations and explanations on why this is true, instead, ask yourself, where do YOU go to first to look for anything?

Now, ask Google about the products/services you offer and see if your business appears in the results with clear, concise and accurate information and contact details.
